We are still waiting for this garden to grow in, but even in the first few months of planting we are starting to see new life buzzing and blossoming in this front yard. Wildflowers will be the first to fill in while the larger shrubs are getting established. A native Redbud tree will eventually become the focal point of this native garden. Replacing Lawn with a Drought-Tolerant Alternative
Dymondia is a drought-tolerant lawn alternative that that handles foot traffic and requires no mowing. The groundcover naturally stays low to the ground and will form a dense mat over time, giving you a functional lawn with reduced maintenance and watering needs. We planted this lawn recently and are still waiting for the Dymondia to fill in. It takes a few months, but it's worth the wait! We'll post updated photos as the Dymondia continues to fill in.
