This garden brought together nearly everything we do. We shaped the slope with moss rock retaining walls and connected each level with hand-set stone steps. Formal flagstone paths lead to the house, and softer, meandering paths wander through a native meadow full of seasonal color and habitat for pollinators and birds. In a once-unusable back corner, we built an artistically crafted circular redwood deck that turned forgotten space into the best seat on the property, with sweeping views of the Bay. For the kitchen, we added four redwood raised beds, two fruit trees and a planting of natives and edibles woven throughout, so the garden is as productive as it is beautiful. Every element was designed and built by our own team, so the stonework, woodwork and planting feel like one continuous landscape.
